It combines spaced repetition with a clean mobile interface, backed by a Spring Boot REST API and PostgreSQL for data persistence. Containerized with Docker Compose for local development and deployment.

The Product
Wordy is a mobile app for learning vocabulary in foreign languages. You add words, the app schedules reviews using spaced repetition, and over time it builds a personalized study loop that prioritizes what you actually need to practice.
The interface is minimal: add words, review them, track progress. No gamification, no social layer. Just a focused tool for daily vocabulary practice.

Engineering
The backend is a Spring Boot 2.7 REST API running on Java 11. Hibernate handles persistence against PostgreSQL, managing vocabulary sets, user progress, and review scheduling. The project is built with Maven and containerized via Docker Compose.
The mobile client is built with React Native, consuming the REST API over HTTPS. The backend handles authentication, CRUD operations on vocabulary, and the spaced repetition scheduling logic.
